I don't know if we have the exact same model, but it's likely that they have very similar video cards. I might just need to look for better drivers at some point. It took some finagling to get setup, but has been rock solid ever since. I am also using the proprietary ATI drivers. I had to get older drivers to support my card (the latest ones made it crash) but I haven't had any problems. And yeah, I really like the more tactile feel of the 3D desktop. It is much more natural.
