PAM

PAM (Pluggable Authentication Modules) is the modular authentication mechanism used in my Linux distributions. In Debian, common-auth and common-account are the two PAM configuration files that need to be edited to accomplish my Goals.

PAM is foundational in accomplishing any system-level authentication tasks in Linux.
